EMU’s Academic and Creative Excellence Festival

Create Together, Explore Together

Each year EMU hosts the Academic and Creative Excellence (ACE) festival. This is an opportunity for you to learn from your classmates and present your own research, creative projects and papers. It is also an opportunity to continue conversations sparked by our Common Read for the year. We invite a keynote speaker to explore with us a topic that is rooted in EMU’s core values. We cancel undergraduate classes so that everyone can participate.

In addition, you will gain experience that prepares you for career success, including the following:

• practice communicating your ideas and research to those in other fields
• provide constructive feedback for classmates about ideas that may be new to you
• teamwork- many presentations and projects are collaborative with classmates or faculty
• learn what is important for presenting at or attending a professional conference
• gain a broader understanding of academic disciplines that aren’t your own
